Spent a week in August on this great site.
We had a spacious pitch with plenty of room for our folding caravan, the kids and 2 dogs.
Facilities are spotless and a credit to the owners and wardens.
The dogs had a fuss every day from the owners on their daily walk around. The site is well maintained and we will be back next year for sure.
This is the first campsite that we have stayed at and have to say what a great place. The welcome from Liz was very friendly, and we were shown to an all weather pitch.
The playgound for the children was 20 metres away, and the kids loved it.!
The showers and toilets were immaculate with lashings of hot water- superb, and the site itself was small but very well kept. It's idealy situated 10 minute drive from Newquay, llangranog or anywhere to explore up or down the the coast. We went on a trip and were lucky enough to see the dophins- this made it for the kids.
I'd recomend this site to anyone who prefers a small, quiet place to which to explore from, and we'll certainly be back.
Thank You for our stay - been great - lovely park, hope we can come again!
Best Wishes Steve & Maggie ( Campervan)
This site is fantastic. The toilets and showers are really clean and showers are powerful and hot. The kitchen has everything you could possibly need even an iron and ironing board. We had typical british weather (RAIN!) so having a fully equiped kitchen that you could sit and eat in was great. The owners and wardens were helpful and friendly and we will definately go back everytime we are in that area. The all weather pitches were great for tents.
An absolutely phenomenal campsite that we have been to before and will continue to visit in the future. The owners, Liz & Paul, are the friendliest campsite owners I have ever met and really made our group feel welcome. We booked as a large group and all of us had at least one dog, the site is very dog friendly with an off-lead area for first & last "walkies".
The loo/shower block was always clean and warm and well-lit and smelt fresh. There are a couple of shower rooms which have a loo & sink in them so good for families, then there's 2 seperate loos and 2 seperate showers as well. The laundry & dishwashing room is brilliant, we had to wash some towels which were washed & dried quickly (though bring your own detergent as I couldn't find any in the room), and there is a fridge and a freezer for campers to store items in. Also a kettle and toaster and microwave (I had EHU so didn't need them, but they are there if you need them).
The site is happy for you to have BBQs and campfires as long as they are off the ground, so my BBQ and my firepit both had a good workout :) As we were in a large group, Liz kindly had us all pitch in a group and then we had a "spare" pitch in the middle where we could all gravitate to at mealtimes and sit/cook/eat/natter together with the dogs etc, a very good touch as we weren't annoying any of our neighbours either!
The all-weather pitches are fantastic, the pea-gravel is very small and surprisingly comfortable! I had a footprint groundsheet then my tent (Outwell Virginia 5) then a carpet, and I couldn't tell I was pitched on pea gravel, if I didn't know it I'd have just assumed it was grass. I wish all campsites had these, they are fabulous for the often wet UK weather and meant I didn't have to pitch on mud - also meant that I could pick up my footprint at the end of the weekend and pop it straight in the car, no brushing mud or grass off it. There was plenty of room at the side of the gravel part for me to park the car, store the trailer, pitch a kitchen tent, and stake the dogs out.
There are loads of dog-friendly beaches nearby, and we went to some castles and did some lovely river-walks as well.
There's a fantastic farm shop up the road (http://www.llwynhelygfarmshop.co.uk/) which gives a discount to campers, they sell amazing Barra Brith! Oh, and there's a good pub down the road, the New Inn (http://www.new-inn.co.uk/) which serves amazing food :)
A beautiful part of Wales and a fab campsite that I can't help returning to, time after time! We will absolutely be back again next year :)
It was our 2nd year staying at the site for Whitsun Bank Holiday, and it never failed on anything! Clean, tidy, friendly site, perfect for 4-legged friends, will definetely come back again :) :)
Best camping site I have stayed at. Great pitch with fantastic facilities. The shower and toilet block was pristine and supassed my high expectations. The other wow for me was the washing-up facility, which included a fridge, freezer, washing machine , tumble dryer, microwave and iron.
The grass pitch I used remained well drained, even after the short, sharp blustery showers I experienced,
I was warmey welcomed and allowed to pick a pitch to camp.
I will certainly return and have already recommended it to friends and colleagues.
We had 4 great days at Brynawelon..everything well thought out for both campers/caravaners and their dogs. The enclosed secure dog area was a big hit with our deaf dog..and even the beaches round about are dog friendly..the facilities on site are 1st class even down to a camp kitchen and a spin dryer (very rare in our experience) The site owners are CAMPERS so that probably says it all..Thanks both for a great stay..Sandra and Lew barlow (wolverhampton)
What a fantastic campsite. We bought a new tent recently and wanted to try it out and picked Brynawelon, I am so glad that we did. The campsite was a nice size and not too busy and noisy. The toilet and shower block were fantastic, so clean as was the washing up area. The owners/wardens work hard to keep the facilities in great condition. The wardens were very helpful and always stopped for a chat. We will definately be back een though its only 26 miles from home!!!.
This is definately on the best camp sites we have ever stayed on.
With Seaviews in the distance, with gorgeous sunsets at night.
Every one on the site is so friendly and helpful. The facilites are just the best ever we have come across on a campsite, the toilet/shower block is immaculate everyday of our stay and you never have to queue for a shower.
Pitches laid out perfectly.
You just have to try this site out but make sure you leave room for us, we came across this site 3 years ago, been every year, and already looking forward to next year.
